About GIPHCC
Greater Indianapolis PHCC (GIPHCC) is one of the largest PHCC locals in
the state with 44 contractor members and 49 associate members. We have 8
monthly meetings, mostly luncheons at
Primo’s South, with
pertinent speakers and tabletops. In addition, we have the annual
GIPHCC golf outing, a summer
social outing (Indiana Downs for the past 3 years) and a Christmas social event.
We also participate in community outreach. Our biggest volunteer project
for the past 5 years has been collecting coats for
Wheeler Mission. Last year, thanks to Vicki Garrett of Kellie Plumbing
and to Indianapolis Winnelson, 156 coats and $200 was donated to Wheeler Mission at
Christmas time.
Last year in addition to the food pantry donation, we supported various charities—United Way, Riley Hospital, the Luke Mehringer Memorial Fund, and Brandon’s House.
GIPHCC Mission Statement
Our mission is to inform the public of the importance of using a licensed
plumber. The primary ways that the GIPHCC works to achieve this mission are
by our ads on SKYTRAK, license plates, and this website.
SKYTRAK
We have been involved for the past 5 years in launching our
SkyTrak ad which has
educated the public to the need to use a licensed plumber. A nucleus of
approximately 10 to 12 GIPHCC members has kept our message in front of the
public on Channel 13 and SkyTrak in the metropolitan Indianapolis area and
environs. Three ads have been shown. The first emphasized the “Use a
Licensed Plumber; It’s the Law” message. The others used a comic approach
to the need to use a licensed contractor rather than a handyman. Citizens
Gas and Diversified Sales Group underwrote the expense of creating these ads.
License Plates
Another of GIPHCC’s projects to get the licensed plumber/PHCC message in front
of the public, at least subliminally, has been to pay for logo license plates
which are given away at the monthly meetings. It is another way to keep
the PHCC name in the forefront with the public when they see these plates on
contractor trucks.
